I like the Iron 883. I have heard it is a little short on rear wheel travel/suspension but whether or not you'd agree is a matter of style and what you are used to. The Sportster is fast, fairly light weight for a Harley and has a very low seat height. I recently rode the regular 883 and liked it ~ V

The new sportsters have an even less travel than the old ones. I aboult 210 lbs. and I can bottom out the sus. I'd ask the dealer about upgrade options. That being said, Harley has an extreamly well put together product. The new rubber-mounted engines are like butter. If you're new to HD, don't let the idle vibes fool you, they disapate as soon as you let out the clutch.

BTW, have you seen the new Bonnevilles? I want one in a bad way!

If you are riding the Mana 850 now, you simply will NOT be satisfied with the H-D 883. I've ridden the baby Sportster and performance-wise it is about comparable to a 250cc Italian scooter or used 250 Ninja. I'm not kidding. These bikes are slow and stiff and uncomfortable. Unless you just HAVE to have the 883, I recommend you move up to at least the 1200 cc H-D or the 1000 cc Buell. Heck, the H-D Street Glide is a much better bike, makes a great commuter should work fine, even in crowded Belgian cities.

Hi Crash, I now live in Illinois, in Chicago. I sold my Mana, because I moved here and couldn't stand all its problems. the 1200 nighster is also an option indeed.

Welcome to the Midwest! I highly recommend taking a trip up to Milwaukee to see the new HD museum. Also, the Rocker Box bike show is another must see.
